Only 4 from entire order of 75 germinated and grew at the expected length. About 18 of the remaining bulbs planted germinated and only a half-dozen or so produced flowers. Soil in the fall was prepared by a local nursery expert, so it's doubtful this is an issue since we have abundant other flowers flourishing in the same bed. Even though the germination level was pitiful, I wouldn't be so upset if the Breck tulips that germinated were really of the "tall" variety, but this was clearly not the case. Threw away at least a dozen. Plants get afternoon and evening sun on west side of house. Planted in a mixture of potting soil and compost with light mulch on top. Pots have drainage holes in them to prevent standing water. These were supposed to be my wife’s Mother’s Day present and I am very disappointed with the results!
