Finding a good health resource with actionable information is essential when learning about adaptogens. A bit about me:  Once upon a decade (1980s), I was brewing kombucha, facilitating holotropic breathwork and learning the benefits holistic therapies.Somewhere along way, I drifted from the flock.  Time will do that.  Recently, I decided to re-discover the natural path. Or maybe it came looking for me.  A friend pointed me to Four Sigmatic and I now have the pleasure of benefiting from the information in the new "Healing Adaptogens" book.The material is presented in a very straightforward and accessible way.  I consider myself a novice with knowledge and I had several, "oh, yeah, that sounds familiar" moments.  Yet, I approached it as-if I was just learning.  Using the clear, well-structured pacing, I was able to learn about the history of adaptogens and discover what types might work best for my needs.  The book will also, I suspect, reward further, more informed reading.I identified my body type, decided on one mushroom - Reishi - and went shopping.  The specific recommendations in the book were all there:  heavy metal testing, organic production, the scientific name on the ingredient label along with reference to use of the fruit body.If you are looking for a calm, common sense way to start or continue your relationship with natural healing, the book is useful and will play a valuable part.
