These harmless crystals, called struvite, are formed by magnesium, ammonia and phosphate which are naturally found in canned seafood. Sometimes during the cooking process these elements come together and form what looks like tiny glass particles. **Q: Does anyone know where this salmon is processed?**
A: I don't know about this salmon but I bought Wild Planet Tuna in Costco recently and it said it was processed in Viet Nam on the can.

**Q: I'm seeing mixed responses.....are the cans BPA free??**
A: If the can sealing is BPA free, is there a BPA alternative used instead?  The sealing is important for process heating and then shipping.
