Both are charging up my circa-2011 Macbook Air as desired. Can't comment on the speed of charging. Neither are overheating. The main part of this replacement has a larger width (~3/8 in), length (~3/8 in), and depth (~1/8 in) than my Apple-brand charger. I think another review said it was heavier, but the main part is actually about 4 grams lighter than my Apple-brand charger and feels more secure in the wall outlet than the Apple one (yes, sad to report that I chose to weigh them for this review, rather than do what I should be doing). The replacement's magnet is stronger. My only negative comment thus far is that the cord is approx 4 inches shorter than the Apple version, which I already thought was too short.
