It’s not fair to compare them (especially since my others have nice shock absorption), but they just don’t feel right to me. I was just getting these for traveling because they fold up into a shorter length than my others, which require a larger suitcase. But I’ll just take the larger suitcase and my good ones on my trip next week. Also they are super long. Make sure that you are comfortable with 43” minimum length. My others are set up about 6” shorter, so these felt really awkward. They say that it’s the international hiking standard, but I use mine for mobility, not outright mountain hiking. I returned them. ### ⭐ Cable snapped after a few uses. *by A***G on Reviewed in the United States on November 14, 2017* Bought this trekking pole for a road trip to Colorado/Utah and after 4 uses, the cable snapped and the pole fell apart. It wasn't like I was beating a bear over the head with it--just normal use. Pretty flimsy but you get what you pay for. ### ⭐⭐ Locking mechanism doesn't stay closed *by M***E on Reviewed in the United States on February 14, 2018* Would be perfect, if it would stay in place! Will have to return it if I can't get it to stay. --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.tn/products/47272479-alafen-collapsible-travel-hiking-walking-stick-trekking-pole-with-eva](https://www.desertcart.tn/products/47272479-alafen-collapsible-travel-hiking-walking-stick-trekking-pole-with-eva) --- *Product available on Desertcart Tunisia* *Store origin: TN* *Last updated: 2026-10-10*
