Inevitably, both of these early solutions would get blown off by wind fully or partially, exposing the cover to solar damage when I didn't notice. That isn't a problem anymore with this well-designed cover that uses velcro and draw strings to securely fit over the cover. Despite many windy days, it's stayed firm and seems like it will hold up to the elements well. Only time will tell, but I'm optimistic. After I put the solar blanket over the solar cover I notice on one end string was goofy. Like the rope was too short and the frayed piece of rope was added. See picture.
