Review: Product review - I bought the newest generation Echo Dot Kids for my daughter after she became obsessed with the Echo we have in the living room, and honestly it’s been a great decision. It’s very child-friendly straight out of the box. The setup was easy, the controls are simple for kids to understand, and the parental features give good peace of mind without feeling restrictive. She uses it daily for music, stories, questions, and alarms, and it’s nice that she has her own device rather than constantly taking over the main one. One feature I really like is the light. It makes the device feel more fun and engaging for children, and it’s also useful as a visual cue rather than just relying on sound. The overall design feels durable and clearly made with kids in mind. The only thing I’m genuinely annoyed about is not buying it sooner. It’s been so useful that I can’t believe we waited as long as we did. I’d definitely recommend this for children under 13 or 14 who want their own smart speaker in their bedroom or play space. Connection and set up through the Alexa app is super easy and with the Alexa parental controls it makes it very safe to use. Volume and sound quality with the spatial sound is amazing. Music is very clear and well balanced, audio storytelling is fantastic together with the usual Alexa fun. The voice response and recognition is superb the touch responsiveness. While it can seem a bit pricey it is great value when you’re given a free subscription to desertcart kids. We already had this so we’re given a refund through desertcart. This was already taken care of from desertcart. Overall the functionality and care that desertcart has is why we have used desertcart for many years.

**Q: Has anyone used ggmm's battery holder? is it really compatible with dot 5**
A: I have used GGMM's show series batteries and dot 4 batteries before, and they are compatible. If you want to try dot 5 batteries, I recommend you to try them.

**Q: Does it play music not just children's music**
A: It will play all music from all sources (Spotify, prime unlimited etc.) and you can control explicit lyrics from the source. You can also switch off Amazon Kids from the device in the Alexa app so it behaves like a standard echo

**Q: Does this display the time?**
A: No it dose not though other models do display time

**Q: Can you connect headphones?**
A: It connects to Bluetooth headphones but not normal headphones l don't think .

We bought the Echo Dot Kids for our 10-year-old daughter, and I’ll be honest – it wasn’t even on her list for Santa. That made it even more special when she opened it, because her reaction was pure excitement. She absolutely loved it from the moment it came out of the box. Since Christmas, she’s barely been out of her bedroom – in the best way. She’s been dancing around, singing along to her favourite K-pop songs, asking Alexa questions, and generally having the time of her life. She actually told us it was her favourite gift this year, which says a lot considering it was a complete surprise. From a parent’s point of view, the parental controls are a huge plus. I really love how much control you have over what they can listen to and access. It gives real peace of mind knowing she isn’t being exposed to anything explicit or inappropriate, and that the content is genuinely child-friendly. The included year of Amazon Kids+ is brilliant value too. There’s loads for her to explore safely, and she’s already making the most of it. We even joked that she could ask Santa to extend the subscription next year! Overall, this has been a fantastic purchase – fun for kids, reassuring for parents, and great value for money. I’d highly recommend it for anyone with children around this age.
