Key won’t stay closed. The inside of the new fob is made different than the old fob. False advertising a 2015 GMC key do no work. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review *by D***D on 12 November 2020* The dealership wanted $200 plus to replace one remote! Yikes! So I bought one of these even though both of our 2014 Equinox LT remotes broke within a week of each other! The part that holds the key in place broke on both... First step was to punch out the little pin that holds the old key in place. I used a small nail that was the same diameter as the pin and the hammer that came with a watch repair kit I have. Once the pin is removed then pull out the old key. I had to use a rag and some pliers to remove it. You will also need to do this to the new key fob. Once the blank key has been removed insert your old key making sure the slot in the key will line up with the pin hole. I'm not sure what GM did to make the original key fob impossible to open but it worked! I ended up using my Dremel with a cut wheel taking my time and carefully cutting it into two pieces. Once I separated the pieces, I removed the battery and circuit board so I could install them in the new key fob. That part was the easiest! Opening the new key fob was easy as well just don't forget to remove the screw first where the bow tie sticker would go. There is a spring that keeps the button pushed out that most likely will pop out when you open the key fob. After some trial and error, I figured out how to put the key release mechanism back together. Before you snap both pieces together you will need to wind the spring in a clockwise direction. It took approximately 1 1/2 rotations. Snap together, insert and tighten screw, and test to make sure everything works. Took me about an half hour after I did surgery on it.
