Review: GTS is now the best Gran Turismo of all time! - *Updated Review as of 12/22/17 Not hyperbole at all, and no, I"m not even a super fan of the series. I generally skip every other GT because I feel it's more of the same. GT1, GT3, GT5 and now GTS are in my collection. I can honestly say, especially after the update, this is already the best GT game and will continue to get better. The one line reviews about it's cons are really doing a disservice to the great work PD has done. Cons - Needs to save your overall progress in the game offline, this can be annoying to people with shoddy, internet it's to deter cheaters in Sport Mode - Not quite there with commercial everyday cars we love yet, DLC keeps adding new ones, but it'll be a while before we hit 300-400 cars - PSVR mode is very limited - That's it!! Pros - Best handling racing game on consoles (do yourself a favor a get a wheel, it's amazing!) - Best online racing on consoles (the system rewards driving clean and fair, it's not about winning) - One of the most impressive graphical showpieces for a 4K display - December update added what we all missed from GT, Sunday Cups! And they will keep updating with more races - Scapes and Livery editor are welcome editions that add a lot of customization and personality to your cars - So far, all the DLC (Modes/Cars/Tracks) are free! Really, PD announced this at launch, the game is a service, and will constantly be updated over time. I get that some folks might have been disappointing at launch, but only a month later, and they've already added a substantial single player experience, not to mention the initial campaign was already a good 15-20 hours of SP modes that actually taught you how to drive and gifted you with cars the more gold medals you got. I've had the game since launch and I've only played a tiny bit of MP because I want to collect Golds on everything. The game has been on sale throughout the Holiday period and is absolutely a steal at $35 and $40! The racing feels so good, and it's the first experience I've had online where everyone is purposely not trying to bump into you and race cleanly. In fact, in higher levels, racing online feels like racing against good AI, because other players don't want there precious driving rating affected, they don't ram you, or slow down on purpose in front of you, none of that usual online mess. But hey, even if you are too afraid of Sport mode, the regular content is here for you to dig into, and it's never looked, felt, and SOUNDED better. Finally a GT game with good sounds lol. Enough ranting, just go and play it for yourself.
Review: GT Sport is definitely the best and the closest simulator I've ever played in my ... - First of all I must say, GT Sport is definitely the best and the closest simulator I've ever played in my life. I played any game you can think of, and this game brings another level and physics that brings you very close to reality. However, I bought a VR as part of this release... And I have to say, this is totally not for VR. There are not enough content/modes you can play with the VR. Besides... The graphics of the game drops by a lot when you put the VR on... So totally.. this game is not for VR. Another good point I found out is this.. a lot of people desertcart and in many other websites saying that the game is not what they thought it will be like. I bought specially for this game the G29 with a nice stand... I tried playing the game with the regular remote... And I found out that it is not even close to the same experience I had with the wheel. So practically I will say... If you don't have the money for a wheel and a stand.. don't even buy this game, it's not for you. But if you do have the right set-up, you're going to enjoy in another level. A 4K TV will add the HDR mode which will turn the image into some real picture that keeps you always in shock. Overall, great game for the right set-up. Terrible game for no set-up. Simple as this.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Art of Racing
*by C***J on October 19, 2017*

Preface: I have played every flagship title of Gran Turismo extensively except for GT1. I've been with the series since I was a young child and have grown to love this game franchise. Gran Turismo Sport is the start of a new generation of Gran Turismo. It focuses heavily on the racing aspect of the sport and less so about Journey like previous installments. With all the sections in this being an integral part of the game, it's best to go over each area of the game. -Graphics: It's pretty easy to say that Gran Turismo Sport is simply a beautiful game to look at. Even when you first start the game, you are thrown into the sheer beauty of this game from the Scapes pictures to the small presentations, everything just seems to have this sort of polish that has become a staple of Gran Turismo. Things aren't any different on track either. The light of the sun shining down on the cars is a sight to behold as each crafted car rounds a bend. The game manages a somewhat stable 60 FPS though it can drop when multiple cars are in an area and dust is kicked up. The track environment is probably the most disappointing aspect of the graphics as the backgrounds look blurry and just lacking the sharpness the rest of the gang has. Thankfully, your attention won't be or shouldn't be, back there that often so you won't realize it too often. -Sounds: Let's get this elephant out of the room now; no, the sounds are not on par with the other two games are part of the Big 3 (Forza Motorsports 7 and Project CARS 2) this year. However, credit is given where credit is due and boy do they deserve credit for the sounds in this game. It's quite the improvement over past installments. With additions like a revamped transmission whine and exhaust crackling and popping from the car. While certain changes in elevation will cause the amazing chassis rattling noise. And the detail for each camera view having unique sounds with the cockpit view being the most notable. Of course, they can improve by adding depth to the sound and making the engines sound more alive but this is a great start. -Cars: Gran Turismo Sport has the smallest selection of cars to date out of all flagship titles. Most of the cars are race cars due to focus on the FIA championships. To give you an idea, for those that don't know, the FIA is the overarching governing body for motorsports all over the world. They are a major partner for Polyphony Digital and Sony to have for thus game and with the FIA championships being huge focus right now, that is the reason for the heavily race focused roster. That doesn't mean that the cars aren't out of this world. They took a quality over quantity mindset to this and cars prove this with the immaculate detail they possess. Just wish the selection was bigger, which is planned to happen during the life-saving of the game. -Tracks: The track selection is another aspect that took a bit. These are not different than the cars, however, in the sense that it isn't completely terrible. The tracks are very well made and nearly a quarter of them are original tracks. The environments, as previously mentioned, aren't great but some places are better than others. One track is next to a coast and really helps the track atmosphere pop. Most of tracks are really a blast to drive and race on with some very technical sections that require more focus than others. -Physics: The most important part in a realistic racing game, the physics in Gran Turismo Sport are improved and some of the best around. Not completely for it's accuracy, though it gets that done very and can be quite unforgiving sometimes, but for its sheer accessibility. This is truly when you can see the "easy to get into, difficult to master" saying takes shape for this game. The two gripes I have is that "snap oversteer" is very noticeable on the rear wheel drive cars. Snap oversteer is suddenly oversteer when applying less than full throttle and the car fishtails. And that all the front wheel drive cars feel pretty similar. -Career: The most controversial aspect of Gran Turismo Sport, the career mode is not as logged as it once was. It is separated into three sections now. Driving School is the normal license tests that have become almost synonymous with Gran Turismo. Mission Challenges is where the bulk of the single-player experience lies, beyond Arcade Node's custom races. This is where you will have scenarios or simply just challenges like knocking over cones, doing a sprint race where your tires and fuel are a factor or even a full on endurance race with 30 cars on track. It really is fun and puts you in very realistic situations. The last section is Circuit Experience where you can. GT through every track sector by sector within a time limit to really get an understanding of the track before doing a full lap. -Online: The online in Gran Turismo Sport is great. The Sport, where all the major races happen (e.g the FIA championships, other online championships, and daily races). This mode is setup very nicely. Daily Races is the main thing that will happen there for the time being and thy are setup nicely. There is a sort of qualifying when the race entry isn't available. Once the race entry opens, you enter the race and you are placed in the same solo qualifying session until the race starts. The race are pretty close and once you get out of the early rankings, the races are very clean and respectful. The normal Online Mode, however, isn't that good. It has unreliable servers like previous installments. People can still make custom lobbies and setup them exactly how they want to with the multitude of options available. -Features: Gran Turismo Sport isn't lacking in features with Scapes, their photo mode on steroids and a fully fledged livery editor. Scapes is really something to behold. There are over 1000 areas across about 50+ venues where you can place your garage of cars or just one car. Scapes is special because they are just photos take with experimental cameras made by Sony. However, these cameras are special because they hold the data for the lighting of an area. Creating photos is easy and making look lifelike is may possible through the large amount of options and settings. The other major feature is the Livery Editor which is something that has been requested since Gran Turismo 5. This Polyphony Digital's first livery editor but you wouldn't know that with how detailed it is. Liverys that could pass for an actual race team can easily be made in Gran Turismo Sport's advanced Livery Editor. One thing that is sorely missing from Sport is dynamic time of day and weather. -Verdict: Gran Turismo Sport is the best way to start a new generation of a franchise. It improves on every fundamental aspect of racing games and is trying to push something that is missing from console racing games. Competitive racing. Is Sport for everyone? Of course not. It only for those that are fans of racing or want to get introduced to competitive racing. Most of the previous reviews I have seen point to the fact it doesn't have a proper Campaign. The game was announced in 2015 with an information explosion happening in May of 2016. Since then, there has been sporadic information drops on the game. That's about two years of time to research the game. There was also a Closed Beta which allowed for more information and finally, there was a Demo just last week that was open for four days. The Demo had almost everything available to play. Buying a game is a major investment and every game purchased should be researched, no matter how the franchise has existed because you never know when the game could change. Or not be exactly what you expected.
