It is also possible dirt somehow got into the packaging or the production floor was slightly dirtier… just odd. Overall, I’d recommend this multi tool to someone that wants a solid, good value lightweight tool that runs on the 12v battery family. 18v would last longer and has more power but this should be good enough for the majority of DIYers or for construction not overly reliant on this specific tool. The battery condition gauge is a nice touch. Starlock blades have a deep recessed mounting hub so if, like me you already have a sizable collection of the most common blades you'll need to spend some more money. Another thing is it still uses a hex wrench, has no lever quick release.
