It is made for a regular standard toilet, 16.5" long. The hinges from lid attachment to hinge bar that is attached to the seat measures 3 inches x 1/2 inch at the widest point; the hinge bar that runs along the back of the seat measures 7 inches x 3/4 inch. In the open position the lid has a 1-1/2 inch gap so that when the lid is closed it falls perfectly centered on the seat. The bolt that screws into the porcelain is 2 inches long which is sufficient length to accommodate most toilet designs to screw the nut underneath with plenty of thread left to secure the seat firmly.
