Connect power and make sure the start button is green. 2. Open the cover and put the edge of a specialized plastic bag(don’t use normal plastic bag) on the first black heating wire near you, please make sure the rough side of plastic bag facing up. 3. Put down the cover and lock hooks on the right and left side. Press the start button, then the green lamp flickers. I'm raising this review up to 4 stars. Once you lock the vacuum on each side and push the green button, i had to firmly press down the top ov the vacuum and voila! It started working. That step is not in the poo grammar typed dorections.I was so excited to get this vacuum but it just arrived and it's not working. I needed it for a project tomorrow. Now I have to figure out how to exchange it. Hopefully I can get a functional machine this time so I can update this review. I was skeptical because of the low price, but so far, this thing has worked absolutely as advertised. I am only using it a few times a month, so I do not know how it would hold up under heavy use. As stated here before, the instructions are written in very poor English and make them nearly worthless. I either have a bad unit, or most of the verified reviews are bogus. This machine has the capability of being awesome at the low cost, if it worked 100% of the time. I kind of wish I would have spent more and gotten a better model.Also, this machine doesn't tolerate wet foods.
