Most times it doesn't work, not sure why. I tested it with a Windows laptop and works ok so I assume is a compatibility issue with Chromebooks. FYI, it will only work with a single monitor. It is not a multiple display docking station or adapter. So you can only use one of the output connectors. One thing I don't really like is how the cable jacket looks when you have a bit of a bending radius right where the USB-C connector is. Bottom line if you plan to use this with a Windows computer it works ok and is a low cost solution to have HDMI, VGA or DVI. Look elsewhere if you need it for Chromebooks.
