The dial is in one hundredth gallons (*0.01 gallons). If you see 0000123.4 on register, it is 123.4 gallons. Review: Flow Meter with 3/4" NFT connections on each end. This meter appears to be very accurate! - Before you try to use this pick up a couple of adapters, a 3/4" MHT x 3/4 FIP and a 3/4" FHT x 3/4" FIP to connect the meter to water hoses to fill your RV fresh water tank or to the regular water connection to monitor how much water you're putting into the tank or how much water you're actually using. Anyway this is a quality meter and looks like it will last awhile. It will also save me a lot of time when filling my fresh water tank. The sensors went out in my fresh water tank so I couldn't determine how much water I was putting in the tank without using 5 gallon buckets to pump the water into the tank. Now I can do use those 5 gallon buckets for something else.
Review: I would say this exceeded my expectations - I simply needed a solid, quality meter to put on a garden hose. Searches always resulted in either A) Cheap plastic meters or B) $100+ metal meters. This was like 40 bucks and is *extremely* solid and well made. It works perfectly. I measured the accuracy and it is accurate. Keep in mind that with this meter you: 1) Will have to buy the adapters for the garden hose, 2) need to lay this device flat while it is in use (I haven't tried tilting it to see what the effect is but was just following their instructions) and 3) Realize that this is a "forward only" meter so you can't reset it with each use so you will have to make note of the reading before use and do a tiny bit of math. I knocked a star of the "Easy to read" because the meter comes with parts/adapters you may not use and the instructions don't make it clear which to use to connect to the hose.

**Q: Can this meter be set to 0?**
A: No, DAE AS130U-50 cannot be reset since it is a revenue grade meter. Revenue grade meter will prevent someone who is being billed with the meter from resetting the data and so not being charged for their full usage. 
In order to reset the reading and monitor remotely, lots of DAE customers purchase Electronic Pulse Counters CO-10 ($38 only, www.amazon.com/dp/B071XDGWF9) which will be connected to DAE AS130U-50P (www.amazon.com/dp/B01DAXQI3G) or MJ-50 (www.amazon.com/dp/B01LVTIYS8) . Slide up the left button of Electronic Pulse Counter to unlock and then push the button to reset to 0 gallon.

**Q: We have 12 mobile homes that we would like to meter & read remotely. Can you give me some options for this project. The units are 300-500 ft apart. Ty**
A: There are two solutions for remote reading from DAE Controls.
1. AS200U-75P (www.amazon.com/dp/B01DAZOQO2) + Electronic Pulse Counter CO-10 ($38, www.amazon.com/dp/B071XDGWF9), an inexpensive solution.
2. DAE Cloud Metering System. Please refer to 3th picture of AS200U-75P listing in Amazon. DAE CC2030 Gateway will get the water consumption data from DAE AMR (Auto Meter Reading Module with RS485 communication for 16 water meters with Pulse Output) or DAE AMR130 (Auto Meter Reading Module with RS485 communication for 1 water meter with Pulse Output) and send them to the cloud (DAE server) through Ethernet. With PC or cell phone or tablet, the building owners or property managers will therefore be able to get access to real time data as well as the monthly water consumption and billing reports to their tenants.

**Q: The reading instructions are contradictory, exactly how its this meter read?**
A: Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We have made changes to the instructions as follows. 
The last digit is in gallons (*1 gallon). The dial is one tenth gallons (*0.1 gallons). The reading in 2nd picture of the listing is 140.84 gallons.

**Q: What is the total length with the couplings?  On your specification sheet and on this site it shows the length without the couplings.**
A: Length without couplings: 6.3 inches, Length with couplings: 11.125 inches

Before you try to use this pick up a couple of adapters, a 3/4" MHT x 3/4 FIP and a 3/4" FHT x 3/4" FIP to connect the meter to water hoses to fill your RV fresh water tank or to the regular water connection to monitor how much water you're putting into the tank or how much water you're actually using. Anyway this is a quality meter and looks like it will last awhile. It will also save me a lot of time when filling my fresh water tank. The sensors went out in my fresh water tank so I couldn't determine how much water I was putting in the tank without using 5 gallon buckets to pump the water into the tank. Now I can do use those 5 gallon buckets for something else.

This was like 40 bucks and is *extremely* solid and well made. It works perfectly. I measured the accuracy and it is accurate. Keep in mind that with this meter you: 1) Will have to buy the adapters for the garden hose, 2) need to lay this device flat while it is in use (I haven't tried tilting it to see what the effect is but was just following their instructions) and 3) Realize that this is a "forward only" meter so you can't reset it with each use so you will have to make note of the reading before use and do a tiny bit of math. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ First month, no problems so far

This meter arrived quickly, and in good shape. It's made of heavy brass (as it should be) and feels like good quality. I've seen a lot of other reviews complaining about the fittings -- and people having difficulty with making good plumbing connections... to which I would say "probably user error". In a former life, I worked as a small water system operator for several years -- and I have experience with this type of water meter. The fittings on this model are standard. You'll want to be sure to use the 2 brass 'adapters' when you install the meter (they aren't 'optional'), and don't forget to put the rubber washers in when you attach them to the meter inlet and outlet ports. After that, you'll have brass male threads pointing in both directions (upstream and downstream) from your new meter -- and these threads are in the nominal size you specified when ordering (mine are 1" male pipe threads or MPT). From here, you will need to purchase the appropriate fittings to connect to your plumbing, with a corresponding female pipe thread (FPT) in the same nominal size. For me, it was a pair of 1" PVC couplings, slip x FPT -- because I was adding the meter into a section of 1" PVC pipe. [Please note: connecting brass or metal MPT into plastic FPT is never recommended, because the plastic fitting can crack as you tighten into it. I did it very carefully.] I have had the meter in service for about a month now (3500 gallons) and everything appears to be working properly. Never did an accuracy test -- but other reviewers have said it's pretty darned accurate, which is good enough for my purposes. Don't overlook the warnings about orientation... I guess this meter MUST be installed horizontally and flat, with the dial facing up. I don't know what happens if you do something different. And I don't want to know. Good luck! :)
