It also doesn't remember what temperature you last used when turning on, so you need to look at a rather small number and scroll to select each time. Then, if you want it to keep warm that's another set of button clicks. However, base continues to show temperature as it decreases. Not sure how long it takes until base stops showing temperature but booklet states there is an automatic shut-off.
