There are some doubts over whether glutathione can be absorbed as a supplement and that NAC might be a more effective way of boosting glutathione by supplying cysteine (precursor to glutathione). However, there are scientific studies proving that some brands of oral glutathione does indeed boost blood levels over a few months. My recent blood test showed that my glutathione levels were ok, I'm sold on this supplement. It's important to keep glutathione levels up for immune system and overall health. I started on the Solgar 50mg capsules first before moving on to this higher strength. I think it's good to start low then slowly increase, to reduce the risk of possible detox side effects.
