I am returning different brand of portable monitor as the display is dim and I do not want to make the same mistake.** A: I have a surface pro 4 laptop which has a very good and very bright screen. As a reference, usually I run the laptop on the "suggested" level, 3/5. Even outside I rarely go above 4/5. Putting the two side by side, this display is about as bright as the surface at 4/5. It is a bright display, I would not think anybody would have issues with it not being bright enough. It is not as pretty as the surface display though. Colours aren't as good and of course the resolution is not as high. So don't get it if vibrant colours are your primary interest.
