Although the plastic filter does seem to reduce screen quality a tiny bit the lack of annoyance from people staring at your screen in public places makes it more than worth while. The filter is attached by a few plastic tabs that stick on the space around your screen. I don't know if this works on all laptops but I didn't have any problems.
