There are plenty of cheaper models on the market, but I had previous experience with Elite Body Squad products and trusted in the brand. For those who don't know, ab rollers are an effective and challenging exercise for strengthening core muscles. Like any exercise, it's important that it is performed with the proper form, so it is a good idea to look up a few Youtube examples before trying to use one yourself if you're unsure. This particular model works well and seems to be well made, but I can't say that it's necessarily better in its function than cheaper models I have used. It's a fairly simple device and I don't think a domestic user would realistically need something this heavy duty - especially given the hefty price tag. The metal core also makes the item heavier, which is something to consider if you plan to travel with it. The mat that comes with it is perfectly adequate. It is, however, folded in two inside the box, so it's a good idea to flatten it out under something heavy before trying to use it and storing it somewhere flat when not in use, such as behind a cupboard. The biggest disappointment came when the branding started to peel away from the handles after only one use. I got in touch with customer services who were very quick to respond and politely offered me the opportunity to return the item or accept a 10% discount. Because the issue was purely cosmetic didn't compromise the use of the item, I gratefully accepted the discount. I think their customer services are very good, but this problem did raise doubts for me about the quality of Elite Body Squad products.
