After testing with three cables (the original ISP provided cable (10ft), this cable (25ft) and another flat style cable (25ft). This cable had nearly identical results despite being 15' longer than the original. The flat style cable was an $11 RJ11 cable and it slowed the speeds down significantly. From 75mbps to 50mbps. So the twisted wires really do make that big of a difference. This cable is much smaller in diameter than the original ISP CAT cable (and much smaller than the product illustration) so there is unfortunately less protection than your standard CAT5e. My router is in a closet however so this is not an issue for me. As long as you protect the cable from being damaged, the twisted wires inside function just as good as any other CAT5e data cable and far exceeds the performance of the flat cables. Don't skimp. Pay the extra $5 for a twisted wire cable over a cheap flat cable. Bottom line: This cable works perfect as a replacement for an ISP provided ADSL2+ data line.
