The origin of our wood is Peru. According to the country's indigenous heritage Palo Santo is predominantly for smudging. In this process it evaporates a subtle aroma - woody with hints of pine, lemon and mint. THE HARVEST OF PALO SANTO Palo Santo forests in Peru Farmer collectives spread out into the forest to gather branches, bark and wood which have fallen off from trees or belong to dead trees. This description might appear like a simple technicality but it is truly unique. Collecting the Holy Wood By not logging trees or chopping off branches the natural stock of Palo Santo forests remains unharmed. At the same time rural communities benefit from the harvest. Chopping Palo Santo sticks Some of the poorest regions of the Peru have gained access to a steady income through Palo Santo trade. Review: I thought it smelt nice and seemed like a nice little ritual - I originally found about this wood at a yoga retreat, where it was used before meditation to refresh and calm the atmosphere. I thought it smelt nice and seemed like a nice little ritual, so I bought some for my own yoga studio. I wander around the studio wafting this smoke before anyone else arrives, and I find it helps me to calm down and focus on the task ahead. I can't comment on how effective it is for my students as they don't know I do this, but I love my little ritual. The wood itself smells exactly like that used at the retreat in Spain, so I'm happy that it is a genuine product. A little smoke goes a long way, so these sticks are still keeping me going over a year later. I just light the end and then blow it out, then blow gently on the embers to keep it smoking as I walk around. I then place it in an abalone shell until it's fully extinguished.
Review: Waste of time and money but smell and presented beautifullly. - The product comes boxed well, beautifully cut. Smells lovely. However, I give 1 star value for money because the smudging does not get negativity out of my space. I am still having trouble with a particular spirit in the room, in the sealing where it is not accessible. Regardless of burning and sending smoke up through taps and the corners of rooms and cracks etc. The smell becomes a bit unbearable after the smudging session to be honest. It lingers and it’s a waste of bloody time and money. I had to buy sage to try burn them together and it’s all rubbish nothing works. The negative spirits seem happy where they are and not to be moved out of my space. I am moving out now in a few days back to my permanent home but have been tormented all year.

I thought it smelt nice and seemed like a nice little ritual, so I bought some for my own yoga studio. Palo Santo wood sticks are great as a gift or just for any occasion,esp.clearing the house of some unwanted energies. Very nice scent and quite chunky sticks...so they lasts for a while( unless you are burning them everyday). I would recommend to buy from this company. Thank you!
