Review: Effective, but hardly 'whisper quiet'. - I bought this to dehumidify my bedroom, which feels far warmer than it is due to humidity, leading to uncomfortable nights' sleep and that feeling that you can't get properly dry after a shower, for example. I plugged it in in the late afternoon, and it certainly made a difference. Although, I would say (like other reviewers) that it takes some time to actually start doing its job. This is because of the way Peltier effect works, and means it should be left on to work effectively. There's a pretty large heatsink of what looks like machined aluminium inside the machine, finned to provide surface area, and the Peltier device needs to bring the temperature of this heatsink down to well below ambient temperature for moisture to start condensing on it. After about 6 hours it started condensation, and the first few drops dribbled down into the reservoir. Over the next 6 hours, it produced a good amount of water, and the air in the room feels appreciably drier and more comfortable. I expect it would have no trouble extracting the claimed 500ml/day, depending on conditions (it can't get water out of the air if the air's already pretty dry!). Ambient temperature is also a factor. So, it does what it says, in a pretty small form factor. The only issue I have is that it is described as 'ultra-quiet' and 'whisper quiet'. If you want something unnoticeable, then this isn't for you. However, I often have a fan and/or air filter going anyway, so don't need total quiet to sleep. It's about the volume of a blow heater, or a desk fan on medium - there's a gentle whooshing, with little mechanical noise from the internal fan. Having had a brief look as much as I can, it seems to be the type of fan you can buy for computer cases, and I'm sure that it wouldn't be difficult to replace the (doubtlessly cheap) fan with one expressly built to be very quiet. All in all, a good buy, but if using in a bedroom be aware that it does make more noise than you might hope. Nothing too disturbing, though.

**Q: does it cost much to run per hour**
A: I have had mine for a few days and run it through a plug-in power meter. There are slow variations but the average consumption has been 12 watts per hour which is just under 0.3kw per 24hr period. On my electricity tariff that translates as about 22p per week if run 24/7. I hope that helps:)

**Q: Mine has been running for like 4 days and it's only collected around 250ml,anyone else have that problem? It's also in a small room 2x2.5m**
A: You also may not have as much damp as you thought.. that’s worth consideration too. Just means you don’t have to empty it constantly! That amount sounds perfectly reasonable to me. I suppose the more it works the less damp there’ll be, so eventually it won’t need emptying as much and will justify itself to be the godsend gem that it’s proved itself to be, imho

**Q: I have used it in a 140 sq feet room for about 15 hours and the tank has very little water. Humidity is at 70%. Should I wait or buy a bigger unit?**
A: Yes. My house is only 50 square meters, and the humidity has always been 80%. It has no effect at all. I bought a newentor 25L dehumidifier, and the humidity is now 45%.

**Q: Will this dehumidifier work for a large room?**
A: Do not! It can't even remove the condensation water from the bedroom windows. If your room is larger, I recommend you to buy a newentor, I put it in the living room, it can also remove the humidity of the other 2 bedrooms, and it takes less than 4p an hour.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT VALUE AND PERFORMANCE!

Bought this to put in my double garage/man cave. As an avid motorcycle nut I spend many hours every week maintaining and "playing " with my toys , reorganizing tools and enjoying a few beers without having to listen to the wife! When the weather's cold outside (8 months of the year) , anything metal gets covered in a fine film of moisture due to condensation which causes surface rust if left, particularly irritating on all the tools. Although most of it disappears once the gas heater has been on for a while, it is hassle wiping the surfaces dry and damaging if left in the long term! I already own a full size dehumidifier which is used in the house to remove the moisture from the room/s the laundry is hung out in, which is extremely efficient, however I was told by the wife that " no way you will be using it out there, it cost £140 and it will get ruined!" So I searched Amazon, £20 for a plastic box needing monthly refills at £10 a time, The Pro Breeze units at £40 or £60 or ones like my existing unit at £120 plus, albeit twice as efficient and capable of holding one and a half litres of water. I decided to gamble £40 and ordered the Pro Breeze Compact, 4x smaller, a third of the capacity, half the performance but a quarter of the price of full size models. Put it in my garage as soon as it arrived, it is small, unobtrusive and quiet, after 8 days the units auto shut off function kicked in as the tank was full so emptied the 500ml of water out and straight back on. I have had it 2 weeks now and it has been fantastic, so quiet I forget it's there and most importantly condensation free tools and bikes!!! Absolutely fantastic product and best value by miles.
