We bought a bag of kitty litter which if you’ve got a hard floor is ideal for inside play as pretend rubble. Batteries that came with it last a couple of hours so bought a spare set so can charge one up while still playing but that was by choice/preference rather than necessity and common fit so easy to find on desertcart. Bought the excavator and dump truck which are a great combo. Light enough for kids to carry around, been dropped, kicked, piled in the toy box and no damage or breakages, tough and durable for both the digger and truck. Hope this helps **Q: Is it easy to pick things up in the bucket and move them around?** A: No and I'm an ex plant operator . **Q: How long does it operate before needing a recharge?** A: This depends on at least 3 points, so turn off flashing lights and engine sounds. the type of ground surface on which it is being used,and the gradient's. The average is 30 to 45 minutes. Recommended. 🙂 ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great excavator. *by M***S on 7 September 2025* A great piece of kit, well built and works great. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Worth the price when on sale £45 *by R***O on 13 July 2025* When I ordered this it was delivers within three days, alot faster than the 2 weeks I was told. It was missing the battery and charger. I contacted Amazon about it and they gave me a full refund and told me I could keep the excavator. I used the refund money to buy a battery for it and now it's up and running. This product is most definitely a toy and not hobby grade but for the price when on sale (£45) it's not bad. The metal bucket is great and all other parts are plastic. Feels cheap but it's as expected. It has very little digging power and is really only suitable for dry sand. It won't dig wet sand more than a few mm deep at a time. All the buttons are on/off switches meaning you can not get precise control from digging or rotating. There is no safety cut when each movement reaches it's maximum length resulting in a horrendous clicking noise when the gears try to go further than they can. This will cause the gears to break eventually. For the price, it's pretty good. And I would recommend.
