I already own a pair of the Jaybird X3s so was able to compare side by side. The X3s protrude slightly deeper but do not look unsightly in my opinion but do however fit, sound and isolate far better than the Freedom 2s. Battery life double on the X3s too. They also come with a multitude of memory foam buds which the Freedoms don’t and it is these that maximise the noise insulation I’d say. I also noticed that with the Freedom2s it was easy for the bud to slip out of the silicone ear piece which was a concern. As you can tell I highly recommend Jaybird as the sound is great but go for the X3s. You won’t regret it. **Q: What’s the difference between the freedom 1’s and freedom 2’s, I can’t seem to find any difference excepts the eartips, earhooks and the adjust tabs?** A: The adjust tabs are no longer optional, they're fitted. The earbuds are all one-piece, and incredibly bad (I found they didn't fit as well, and fell out more frequently) - I still use the two-piece buds from my Freedom 1's. Otherwise, they're exactly the same, basically. **Q: Hi do the freedom 2 have a this profile to use under helmets?** A: Yes they are a very slim form-factor and should fit most helmet types. **Q: Do these have a separate charger like their other earphones or is it just micro usb directly in to the buds?** A: The charging unit and supplemental battery are one and the same. Great sound,as the 1st editions are, and a better fit(despite other reviews to the contrary). Battery life still not great, but for sound and comfort alone....5 stars. The best part?? Under £50!!! Great price, great build quality/ergonomics, good sound, battery life could be better. *by J***B on 24 May 2018* I was previously a user of the Shure SE425, a pretty high performance and accurate earphone. I was resistant to move from wired to wireless but I didn't want to spend a huge chunk of money on some high end wireless earphones without using any before.I have now had the Jaybird Freedom 2 for about 4 months. At first I was initially disappointed with the sound it is still leagues better than any standard earphone (Apples Wireless Earbuds) at a similar price. It will definitely be an improvement for the standard earphone user but wont fill the gap for an audiophile. The app for these lets you set a highly custom EQ which saves the sound quality and turns them into a great pair or earbuds for casual listening. Otherwise, the ergonomics are good and they don't fall out during exercise.
