Product Description The Chisel knife is a robust knife with V-ground mortise chisel function. It has a unique method for attaching the sheath around a button on your work clothes which means it does not loosen, but is easy to remove. The knife blade is manufactured in Japanese knife steel, 3mm carbon steel that has been hardened to 58-60 HRC, the cutting edge has been sharpened with a double edge angle and a final honing on a leather strop.The handle and sheath are made of extra durable PP plastic, the sheath fits just as well on your belt as on your buttons. Mine is mainly used for timber frame use its size makes it perfect for those awkward little spaces I’ve also used it for splitting wood for kindling. It’s unbeatable in terms of build quality and strength. It’s a brilliant addition to the toolkit. I would highly recommend.

**Q: any good for whittling? (for a child)**
A: I would say no, these are wicked sharp and 'chisel' edged, its not a whittling tool even for an adult. If you seriously want to entrust a child with a razor sharp knife as needed for whittling, I'd suggest looking at a Mora 106 or 122 carving knife, they would make a good starter whittling knife, the 122 possibly the better one, smaller laminated blade.

**Q: Is it carbon or stainless steel? The description says both, so I'm confused.**
A: It is carbon stainless steel. Its the way its treated. Very hard and keeps its edge. Like I said its the most useful knife I have.

**Q: what is the length of the blade?**
A: Hello, the length of the blade on the one that I have is 70mm.Hope that helps.

**Q: Can it cut ductwork?**
A: Yes it's the most useful knife I have ever owned. It will do anything you need.

Hultafors tools are brilliant and this was no different as a professional tradesman I have used many variations of this tool from all the top brands and some did perform quite well but none really compare to this. Well worth the money and worthy of a place in your day to day tool-box. It is absolutely ideal for those one-off jobs that are not QUITE worth getting a chisel out for. It is simply made but appears robust and has a tough and secure holster. The holster came as a nice surprise as the knife can safely live in my tool box without getting ruined. It arrived with the main blade super-sharp but the chisel blade much less so. It took an edge fairly easily so it may not stay sharp all that long. It says 'Stainless Steel' but which one? Some are OK for blades but some are far too soft.
