Our Copper Tape can be used indoors & out and is flexible enough to be used for almost any job. Warning: Due to our tape being made of real copper foil, the edges can be a bit sharp so be careful when handling. Flexible Highly Conductive Low Resistance Indoor & Outdoor Use Water Resistant Strong Conductive Adhesive Step by Step for EMI Shielding! Start by covering your pickguard with copper tape - placing it lengthways and overlapping each strip - as this means the electrical current can pass through both the pickguard and the body. It is essential to make sure there are no gaps in the copper tape casing. Once the whole pickguard is covered, follow the same process for the inside of the body. Most importantly, make sure the strips run up the sides and on top of the body. This means the copper within the body will be in contact with the pickguard once re-assembled. Once you've covered the main cavity and jack cavity, you need to connect the two together. Take a jumper wire, bend it through the hole where the jack socket wires go, bend it round the corner and solder each end. Once cool, cover the solder joints with copper tape. Next, you must ground your 'faraday cage' by connecting your main ground coming from the tremolo claw/bridge to the volume pot casing as normal. ## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can this be used outside if varnished afterwards?**
A: If using outside I would make sure the surface it’s attached to is clean and dry as you will need a good addictive contact so the weather elements don’t affect it.

I would use some spray addictive on the surface first let it dry and then you have a great bond for the tape to stick too and then apply the varnish as a top coat so the tape is protected from being scratched

**Q: “Is it removable? If I put in on a wall would I be able to take it off without marks?”**
A: Yes should be fine - you can also use some solvent spray to free up the adhesive if it is stubborn.

**Q: I was looking to use this to cover the trim on a fireplace, how would it cope with the heat?**
A: I covered a picture frame with it , I found it very difficult to avoid creases. I don’t know if it will cope with heat.  Hope this helps

**Q: Would this tape be ok to use to cover a mirrored kitchen splash back? It will be about 20cm from a gas hob.**
A: I have used it on my tiled hob splash back. One of the tiles had burnt coating as it was closest to the big burner and kept bugging me so I covered it with copper tape. 2 months in. So far so good. I can clean it well, it doesn’t peel off and it doesn’t burn.
