Review: Best 'Budget' Wireless Gaming Headset - In my opinion this is the best value for money wireless gaming headset. The main reason being the replaceable parts that are available in case of failure. I will touch on these below; - PROS - ✖ Replaceable Battery - This was one of my main considerations, the majority of wireless gaming headsets do not allow for the battery to be replaced until you get to the headsets worth £200-£300 which I find ridiculous, this headset allows the battery to be bought and replaced (Around £15) and the instructions with the headset tell you how to replace the battery. This is a MAJOR selling point for me. After all the main feature is it's wireless ability, if the battery is useless after 1-2 years, then it's redundant. ✖ Comfortable Ear & Headband - The ear and headband cushions on this are very comfortable, I have been wearing it for several hours a day and I don't seem to experience much discomfort, even when it has been very hot. Bear in mind also that if you do not like the breathable cotton material on the ear cups / headband you can once again buy replacements and they are easy to change. ✖ Construction Quality - Extremely durable, expensive feeling plastic. Nothing feels flimsy of cheap on them at all. ✖ Software - The Logitech software is extremely powerful and easy to use, multiple profiles allow for different equaliser settings for different games scenarios; E.g Settings for listening to music vs gaming. ✖ Works on PS4 - Works flawlessly on PS4, plug in the dongle into the Playstation, switch the headset on and it's done. The microphone and sound is fine. The main disadvantage is that this is stereo only and you cannot change the audio profiles - However, another "hidden" feature is that if you connect the headset to your PC and save an equaliser profile it actually carries across the profile to your PS4 when you connect it back to your PS4, so create a good profile for your PS4 games and save it and you're good to go! ✖ Battery Life - This is quoted as around 15-16 hours and I do indeed get those figures, the headset lasts extremely well, not much to say here other than I only have to charge it every couple of days and that's me using it 6+ hours sometimes. ✖ Programmable Button - Macro button on the headset can be programmed to do whatever you please, mine is set up to launch Spotify on my PC when I'm inside a full screen application. Fantastic feature. Button can do anything from increase the volume to mute the mic, to hot-swapping between equaliser profiles. ✖ Range - Oh my the range, I can easily walk around my house and still remain connected with a clear connection. Absolutely brilliant. This is across several floors / rooms / walls - Doesn't matter, still remains connected. This is due to the 2.4Ghz it uses. ✖ Volume wheel - Easily adjust the volume from the side of the headset. Nice feature. - CONS - ✖ Mic is not the loudest on PC at all, very quiet, and because it is wireless within windows you cannot amplify the mic through the typical "mic boost" setting. It is still audible, just quiet. However, on PS4, the mic is PERFECT, extremely clear and loud. Maybe it's something to do with Windows... ✖ Volume Wheel - Very nice feature as mentioned but very "loose", hard to scroll it to the right setting. Could have a better construction, but not the end of the world. ✖ Wired Functionality - There is no wired functionality with this headset. It is wireless only. Even whilst charging it still needs to be connected via the dongle. ✖ Bulky - They are very large. Yet, very comfortable. However, they are not "heavy" on your head, you can barely feel them. Just something for consideration. In short, there are so many features on this headset it would take me forever to list all of them, for the price paid of sub £80 they are an absolutely fantastic headset and definitely one of the best wireless headsets due to the ease of use and also self-replaceable parts if something were to go wrong. Not to mention, 2 year Logitech warranty. There are some negatives, but they are really nit picks. Definitely worth the money.
Review: Headset for Gaming - I bought this headset for gaming and so far enjoying them. They are fairly comfortable and there is always the option of diffrent ear-pieces. In terms of quality, they work like a charm. Download the LGS and you can use the surround sound as well as checking battery life etc. The frame feels good quality and has a swivel action rotation. Even though the headset works instantly with the adaptor..it can take some time to actually set it up correctly and get the LGS working. Pros: Quality sound Good battery life Macro-changeable button (Mine is set to surround sound) Sturdy frame Cons: The mic is fairly standard but would be alright for gaming and team chat etc The default earpieces could be better Overall it's one of the better choices for wireless headsets, however don't expect the mic to be studio quality.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: These headphones are wireless and that's great. Do I still have the option of having them wired, though? (is there a jack input?)**
A: There is no jack input. The only "wired" option is to wear them with the charging cable attached so they charge while using them.
They are purely wireless with its dongle.

**Q: will these work on playstation and xbox one ?**
A: Hi, I can confirm these work on Playstation 4 but I don't have an xbox one so I am not sure on that

**Q: Are you able to charge this headset while using it? Or will it have to be turned off while charging.**
A: Although you can, I find that when I do use them while charging on my computer, it constantly makes the USB connect and disconnect sound, so I would recommend just charging before hand, the battery life is pretty good.

**Q: Is the mic detatchable?**
A: no, it pulls out about 1 inch wen u use it

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Has its faults, fantastic headset
*by K***N on 24 January 2017*

I’ve been obsessively using Logitech headsets for a little over 5 years now. I upgraded from the Logitech G35 after the headset gave way, which happened at a very good time as Logitech’s software for the G35 is very poor, and the G533 had just been released. ---PHYSICAL TOUR--- The first thing to note about the G533 is the way that it is packaged. There isn’t much in the way of keeping the headset safe inside its box, so I wouldn’t recommend throwing it around as there’s no padding to take care of it outside the cardboard inside the box and the bags that the headset is placed in. However I don’t mean this to sound like the headset is poorly packaged, as upon opening the box it is very well presented, the headset easily lifts away from the box and the accessories and user manual are in a nifty little gap in the divider between the headphones. I’m personally keeping this box for old headsets that I want to keep in good nick. To the actual headset itself, you should start off by familiarising yourself with how to take off the battery cover on the right hand ear cup, writing down the serial number and getting the product registered on Logitech’s site, just in case. It will also familiarise you with the battery in case of a problem. The plastic that covers these earcups is however very glossy, as is that surrounding the headset. I left my protective covers over the glossy plastic for a few days while I familiarised myself with the controls on the side of the headset to avoid leaving finger print marks everywhere. The actual controls themselves are very basic, as is the purpose of this no frills headset. You get a single textured button on the left earcup where all the controls are located, which is reprogrammable in Logitech’s software but is understandably bound to the mute microphone function. There is a switch for powering on and off the headset which feels very solid and requires real intention to turn off and on the headset, so no accidental pushing. Finally, the volume wheel. The wheel is infinite, meaning it will turn and turn even when the headset is muted or maxed, and is using a similar texture to that of the mute button, so is grippy and easy to push. It should also be noted that none of these functions feel loose, the sense of build quality is immaculate as even the G35 couldn’t perform this well. The padding of the headset is very comfortable, and doesn’t suffer from becoming too dense, hard and uncomfortable if you leave the headset on for long periods of time. I personally find it very easy to forget I’m wearing the headset through a combination of the soft padding and lightweight feel. The headband sports identical padding to that of the earcups, and is very easy to adjust and seems very grippy once you’ve settled on where you want the earcups to stay. The earcups themselves have a swivel function, allowing you to take off the headset and carry it around your neck, with the padded sides resting against your shoulders. On the left earcup you’ll find the microphone, which acts almost as a lever. It can sit comfortably against the left ear cup, or pulled down by around where your chin will be. If you choose you can also extend the microphone a few centimetres, allowing for more solid positioning if you so choose. I personally choose to keep the microphone unextended. ---AUDIO--- The microphone is the main reason I bought this headset, and I can safely say its very… unimpressive. That does not however mean it is bad, as the G533 has to contend with its predecessor the G35, which had an astounding microphone. The microphone suffers from making your voice seem a little robotic and its very obvious you’re speaking through a microphone, however the background noise is essentially non-existent and it would appear that the integrated pop filter is rather solid. If I had to rate the microphone I’d give it a 7/10. The drivers themselves. I’m not a big audio buff so everything I say is going to be in layman’s terms. Upon first firing up the headset I did what everyone who gets a new headset does: go and listen to my favourite music. Bad move – the headset requires a little tweaking before you’re going to be satisfied, as it comes with the surround sound virtualisation activated by default, horrible for listening to music with. After tweaking with the settings in Logitech’s software I was very pleased, I prefer things a little bass’y and the earcups can provide bass in droves. The earcups don’t suffer from distortion unless you really push the bass slider all the way to the max, and can get so loud that it becomes more than viable to put the earphones on the desk and use them as a little speaker set. The surround sound system itself is definitely impressive, I’m not a big fan of using it but I gave it a go in a couple of games and it did exactly what it said on the tin and I can definitely recommend the headset’s capabilities if the surround sound is important to you. It should also be noted that Logitech integrated their fantastic self-muting microphone upon its docked position. Meaning that when the microphone is against the earcup, it will mute itself and upon pulling it away and toward your chin, it will reengage, allowing for quick muting and unmuting. ---RANGE--- I live in a house with a lot of tech, and as such there’s a lot living on my 2.4 GHz signal, which meant that I wasn’t able to achieve anywhere near the maximum range of 50 feet (15m), however I didn’t expect it to. It does however reach just about everywhere, but will suffer signal loss or artefacting if you take it too far or through too many signals. However upon killing all of these signals, the headset held up astoundingly, able to even walk with the headset outside and into my garden before it finally gave way and as such it should keep just about anyone happy. (Note, the distance between my computer and the headset when it was suffering artefacting was approximately 20 feet (6.1m). ---SOFTWARE--- Logitech’ software is actually really good. While it can be a nuisance to work with sometimes, when it all goes right, it’s a blast. As mentioned earlier, the first thing I had to do was visit the last tab and disable the surround sound system and then move a tab to the left to the equalizer. I was presented with a bunch of presets for what kind of audio I wanted to listen to. This is a nice touch as if you’re happy with Logitech’s presets, it’s a case of hitting the one you like and its off to the races. I decided to make my own bassier version of the default preset. The equalizer supports a handsome range of changes, and I quickly found myself enjoying the headphones a lot more. The place where the headset surprised me was that I could save more profiles to the software, and even some to the headset, meaning that I could easily take the headset elsewhere or to another machine and still have my preset! Kudos. You’re fully able to reprogram the singular key, once again choosing from Logitech’s preset buttons or setting up one of your own functions if you so desire. Lastly, the battery tab. It does exactly what you think it does. It tells you the battery life. No nonsense, you get an estimated battery life timer and a percentage bar, as well as a nice little visual indicator. Solid. --- BATTERY LIFE --- Incredible. I am someone who spends a great deal of time at their PC, and as such it is not uncommon for me to use the computer from waking up to going to bed. This headset was fully capable of pulling me through 14 hours worth of intense audio and microphone usage, and I still had battery to spare before I put it down for the night. If you do suffer from a dying battery, it really is no problem at all. Logitech provides a premium cable with great length (I’d approximate it to be about 5 feet or 1.5m) and it’ll take care of the headset and charge it even while listening. ---THE BAD--- Okay so I’ve sung all my praises, It’s time to hammer down what I did not like with using this headset. The materials seem cheap. The plastic feels a little tacky and while it feels like it is well built, some more premium materials could have been opted for, I personally would have liked something more akin to the rubberised outer coating on the G35 and the rubber that covered the headband. The swivel mechanism, while it is fantastic is terrifying to me. I haven’t tested this headset for very long and I dare not say what I think will happen in regards to keeping the headphones clipped to the headband, and while it seems fine right now, I’ll definitely be handling this headset with care. The microphone. While I said it was -ok- earlier, it really is just that. And you’re not paying for an ‘ok’ headset, you want something astounding and the microphone really lets the headset down. It’s quite miserable when you put it up against it’s predecessor the G35, though still better than it’s older brother the G633. The microphone also seems to suffer from a rather strange issue with its auto mute function. When pushing the microphone against the earcup, and it engages mute – it’s fine. However upon pulling the microphone back to my chin, it will sometimes fail to reengage even though the microphone is fully extended. This meant that I had to reassign the single function key back to mute microphone so that I had a reliable way to reactivate the microphone if it did fail. The earcups also seem to push on the sides of my ears, while this is an over the ear headset, my ears find themselves pushing right up against the drivers and this can become painful if I don’t adjust the headset frequently. The functions at long range seem to give up. I was standing downstairs listening to the earphones, listening to a podcast. The audio was a little quiet and I only keep the earphones on around 20-30%. I pushed the volume wheel and nothing changed. The microphone didn’t follow the mute command and I found this a little annoying, as only upon getting closer to the USB dongle would these functions reengage. ---CONCLUSION--- Would I recommend this headset? In a heartbeat. Would I say it’s worth the money? I think you’re paying a little too much for what you get. £140 is not what I would pay for this, and would feel a lot more comfortable with my purchase if it was closer to £100-110. Would I -really- recommend this headset, despite my bad points? Again, I would. The points I mentioned only really irritate you for a couple of seconds and they’re easy to overcome, and it does not take away from the positively delightful experience that is using these headphones. I would only consider these headphones to be a 5/5 rating if they were to get a little cheaper, as I believe for £140 you need a little more for your money.
