## Description

From the manufacturer Sevylor Riviera The original since 1948 At Sevylor we share a simple aim: to make high-quality, affordable inflatable water sport and recreation products, all of which encourage people to get outside and have fun. We’re proud to have established a global reputation as one of the market leaders with unique designs, original inventions and imagination at the forefront of what we do. Sevylor Riviera - inflatable kayak incl. double paddle. 2 Person inflatable kayak kit. The Sevylor Riviera is a classic inflatable kayak, renewed with the revolutionary Backpack System for ultimate convenience. Ideal for enjoying adventures and leisure time on water with friends and family. It comes with aluminium paddles. Capacity: 2 adults. Convert between 2 or 1 person kayak. Weighs only 8.4kg. Holds up to 180kg of weight. Size inflated: 312 x 92 cm. Backpack System for easy storage and transportation. 3 independant chambers for extra safety. Sevytest to measure pressure while inflating. Sevylor Riviera - Key Features Multiple Chambers The Rivera Kayak comes with multiple independent chambers for safety and stability. The large side chambers stabilise the kayak, while the I-beam floor chamber adds rigidity to the base. 1. Made of Heavy Duty PVC. 2. Inflatable side chambers. 3. Inflatable floor chamber with I-beam construction. Sevytest Many of our PVC products are equipped with an integrated Sevytest pressure gauge for accurate inflation. The red bar indicates whether you have to add or reduce air, if the bar ends somewhere in the green area, the air pressure level is just right. Easy Inflation Valves Boston valves for easy inflation: two-way valves allow you to control the air entering and leaving the chambers. To inflate, unscrew the top cap and insert the pump. A return flap will prevent leakage once the pump is removed. To deflate, simply unscrew the entire valve. Inflation and deflation has never been this easy. Backpack System After deflating the kayak roll it into the spray deck. It will convert into a backpack and you can easily transport the kayak on your shoulders. Avoid the hassle of a tight fit carrying bag and enjoy the portable ease.

Review: Seems good. Great fun and durable for the price - Used for one summer. So far so good. Inflates quickly if you have a big pump (not supplied). One-way valves work well and help. Similarly deflates quickly and easily. Folds / Rolls up quite small, and has some handy straps so it can be carried like a rucsack (But I haven't quite yet figured out the best way to end up with straps and package in a comfortable position for carrying) It is quite heavy, but at least it goes back into the box relatively easily, to protect it from damage over the winter. Seems to work best when inflated more rather than less - can lose direction when paddling if not fully inflated. It also gets blown around a bit. A small 'sea anchor' would probably help, to act like a fin to keep it straight if paddling for some distance. Also, as for anything inflatable on open water, it will get blown downwind quite quickly in a strong breeze. Overall great fun for all the family, and great value!
Review: Really pretty good for the price - I have now had this boat for a year and a half and have had many hours in it on the non-tidal River Thames, the River Itchen, a couple of Welsh lakes and (very cautiously) the sea around Jersey (staying close to the beach). It has been pretty reliable. I find it reasonably easy to handle, and I haven't yet bought a skeg. I might at some point. I generally have no difficulty getting from one lock to another on the Thames (downstream and or upstream), at least in normal river conditions. I have had two significant leaks in that time - one of which was on the inflated hull after having been dragged over the river bed (which I have done many other times without problem). Another leak was due to over-inflation. The first one I fixed with the included puncture repair kit. The over-inflation leak which happened three months ago after I'd owned it for about 16/17 months, I repaired using Stormsure glue and a patch (Stormsure glue is a very good product available on desertcart), and have since been out on the water for a number of hours. In general, for the price, this has been a great boat. I intend to make it last at least another couple of years! I would like to stress that I have really had a lot of use out of it (including a fair bit of dragging it over the ground), and only two punctures which were straightforward to repair.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nice little boat
*by C***I on 18 August 2015*

Had my first paddle today and I'm very happy with my £75 Riviera. FYI I'm 6'2 and weigh 108Kg. I bought it primarily to paddle solo on my local canal. Based on the other reviews I also purchased the optional Skeg for £12.99 from an eBay seller. Inflation/ Deflation: The boat packs up very small and unrolls and inflates in minutes. The 3 main chambers use good quality one-way boston valves which can be unscrewed for fast deflation. The pressure indicators on the side chambers are a nice touch but mine didn't seem to match very well so for peace of mind I recommend buying a pressure gauge for use until you're familiar with how firm the boat should feel (also useful for the floor chamber which has no pressure indicator). The 'back-pack system' works well to strap-up the rolled boat and provide carrying handles. There's an official Sevylor vid on youtube showing the Riviera being unpacked and inflated - however they've simplified the design to reduce the cost since that video was filmed: my boat doesn't have the storage pocket for the back-pack straps so instead these just dangle down inside the boat. It also lacks the inflatable rims on the spray skirts - instead they're just made from a single sheet of vinyl. However, in practise these omissions are no great loss. The seats are supportive and work well to keep your bum out of the water inside the boat. The lack of seat support straps wasn't a problem - my seat stayed firmly jammed in place towards the back of the boat. On the water: I found the boat easy to control and quite stable, however I was not able to adjust my position once in the boat. eg. attempting to lift my weight up by pressing down on the gunwales with my hands resulted in water flowing in where I was pressing - so the boat's not really stiff enough for a heavy guy like me to shift my weight around. So it's best to keep everything you need in easy reach between your legs. The width of the kayak makes it slightly awkward to paddle - since you have to reach over the wide gunwales. I had to adjust my stroke to avoid rubbing the flanks but after a while I got the hang of it. Getting in & out on a dock: This presents some difficulties - particularly getting out of the boat. There are plenty of youtube videos showing how to get in/out of regular kayaks - but none for inflatables. The boat is wide so you have to shift your ass a long way from the seat to the dock. In addition, being inflatable there are no hard surfaces to hold, step on or press against. Best solution seems to be to place the paddle behind your back straddling the dock and kayak then use that to lift yourself up and rotate your ass onto the dock. However you will need someone to hold the boat steady against the dock. I purchased 5m of rope and tied it to the bow and stern handles - so someone can easily pull the boat against the dock while I'm getting out. All in all a great bargain at £75.
