You should use a suitable trolley jack for the lifting as it is safer. Then use the axle stands as a back up in case the trolley jack fails. Once you’ve raised the vehicle using the trolley jack, these will hold most vehicles as they are rated 3 Tonne each stand (6 for the pair). I’m guessing your vehicle isn’t heavier than this either at the front or the back. **Q: Has anyone managed to find some rubber pads that fit these?** A: I have seen them before on Amazon and online but to be honest any sort of soft rubber would be fine, old bicycle tyre or something like that is the job.
