Mine randomly stopped working, so I bought a more expensive one. Turns out I just needed to update my drivers. This one still works, may take back the expensive one I bought. After that, the installation should be able to complete for the adapters drivers. **Q: After 2 days it stopped working completely, the pc wont recognize the usb is even connected any ideas?** A: Have you tried to reboot or clear it from the devices? Clear it from the devices after you unplug it from the computer. Then reboot the computer and plug it in. If that doesn't work, I have no idea. **Q: Why can't I adjust the resolution?** A: Thank you for your question. First, please you know the adapter support Resolution up to 1920x1080@60Hz in USB3.0 and 800x600@60Hz in USB2.0. So if you want to adjust the resolution, make sure your computer has USB 3.0 port. If your computer has USB3.0 ports, and you still can't adjust the resolution, maybe you can change to the extend mode first and then you can adjust the resolution. This converter supports two modes: Mirror mode and Extend mode. Mirror mode is default mode. When you can go to the interface which you want to adjust the resolution. And then you can find the Multi-monitor option and please you can select option "Extend display", then tap the apply button, last save changes. And then you can adjust the resolution. I mean it did work, but wasn't as clear as other units I have used in the past. Also, if your PC doesn't have live USB ports at all times, or your using on a laptop... Every time you fire it up it takes like 10 seconds to function... In the meantime you can't do anything because the screen is blinking and your "screen resolution" pops up.Again... I don't know if it's my hardware causing the issue so I am going to take one start away for a lack of compatibility.(Note, I purchased a different model that cost about twice as much, after about a week of using this one... No problems at all. This is perfect. I have added the monitor and extended my desktop to it.When I got the adapter, I noticed the USB plug was blue. In order for this adapter to work as designed, it needs to be plugged in to a USB 3.0. Luckily my laptop had one.The adapter does come with software that needs to be installed so the computer recognizes the device. When you plug the adapter in the first time, you should see the computer reacting to it and wanting to know what to do with it. I ran the software then rebooted the laptop.
