A few years ago I used to be a blood platelet donor and donated every 2 weeks at a large London hospital. All donors were very carefully monitored and checked before each session and on one occasion I was found to be anaemic and therefore unable to donate. Due to the stringent care of donors I had to have a quick chat with the Consultant. She suggested I bought some Floradix as she said it worked wonders. Floradix was not so readily available then, but I bought some and followed the dosage. When I returned to the donor clinic my red blood count had literally soared and I had no further problems. I always have a bottle on hand, have taken it in preparation for major surgery and take it constantly throughout the winter months. It is not my favourite flavour (!) but quite palatable.
