Review: Top Quality, 100% meat. Long shelf life - absolutely no junk or garbage in these natural, odour free treats. - These are 100% meat, cooked, extruded into pencil shapes, then dried. Each pencil is about 6" long and just under half an inch diameter. There's around seven or eight in each 50g tray. The treats aren't chews, they're firm, but not brittle, and it's easy to snap off a bit at a time if you only want to give a morsel. They're well presented - each tray of treats is in a well printed card insert, in a sealed cellophane packet, so look good enough for a Birthday or Xmas gift for your dog, or a mate's dog, without breaking the bank. What I like about these is that they're completely additive free - they're 100% meat - Nothing else, no fillers, no junk, no cereals, no sugars or suspicious sounding "derivatives of animal/vegetable origin" - which could mean anything from feathers to compost. These have a good, long shelf life - at time of writing, these still have another fourteen months left on the 'best before' date. Ours seem to love getting even small amounts (say 1cm in length), although they will happily get through a whole stick in no time at all. ## Questions & Answers

**Q: Are these highly caloric ? how often should i give these to a 10kg/20 pound dog (or by how much should i reduce his usual kible portion) ? thank you!**
A: No these are low fat & just pure meat sticks. In all honesty I don't reduce our dogs meals for these but they generally only get one stick a day. 
I do however use the JR's training treats as well, which are basically the same but are tiny pieces instead of the sticks, my lot can go through a bag in 3 days & their weights are all stable. Hope that helps!

**Q: are they suitable for a 6 month old puppy?**
A: There is nothing on the packaging to say "Do not feed to puppies or suitable for dogs over........"  They do break up easily but personally, having had 3 golden retrievers from puppies I would not give these treats to a puppy of 6 months especially if he/she is a small dog.  I would wait until 10/12 months of age.  That however is a personal choice.  Hope this helps.

**Q: what is the shelf life?**
A: I have just bought a new batch of kangaroo strips and the best before date is end Sept 2018.  My dog loves them!

**Q: Can I freeze them and give them to my dog frozen**
A: In theory, I would of thought so, you can freeze jerky and other dehydrated products.  You can make your own frozen treats for dogs, we often do in the summer to help cool our lot down, we often fill kongs with liver paste or their own peanut butter and freeze them for our dogs, tons of safe recipes online and providing it's only a small amount it doesn't do any harm. As others have said these fresh meat sticks usually have a good shelf life, but if your a one dog household I could see where the question stems from. I usually don't worry about dates here as we have multiple dogs but the one pack we have left has over a year left if that helps.

The pooches love these treats. Appear to be very tasty, there is no favourite - all have gone down very well. Easy to break into small pieces so can be used as an effective training aid - no issues with recall when these were available although can't guarantee this will always be the case! Don't leave a mess like some treats. Flavours being individually wrapped is a bonus. Quite pricey but comparable to other products that are 100% natural - well worth it and will buy the product again …….
