My boyfriend and I have taken the ring off one case to put on another, numerous times, and we've never had a problems. Just rinse the sticky side under running water, let it dry and it will stick like new. We both have iPhone 6 pluses and those phones aren't the lightest and I have a mophie battery pack on my phone and it holds fine. **Q: Does it stick well to an Otterbox Symmetry case?** A: I don't see why it wouldn't, it sticks extremely well on my cases. I have two, one on each device and before I had 2, I tried taking one off and it was extremely difficult. Once you stick it, make sure you want it where you place it. Very we'll made, very good adhesive. **Q: how long did it actually take before the ring loosen up? losing its ability as a stand?** A: My ring came off after about a week, just in my hand. I actually just stuck it back on, didn't even wipe it off with a moist towel as they recommend. They have always stuck well to my gel phone case and only been changed when the ring loosens with wear and tear. I purchased a new phone early July after the covid tracker download (look in Google settings on your settings app & there it is !!) totally messed up my 2016 phone and all my Google apps as there was not enough storage space on the phone or sd card to receive it ! Anyway I ordered a spigen gel case and a new ring for my new phone. Firstly the new ring fell off several times after I positioned it on to the gel case. This had never happened before! Fortunatly the phone fell on to carpet so didn't get damaged. It took over a week for the glue to set fully .... where previously it stuck firmly immediately. 3 days after the return window closed I picked the phone up by the ring..... and the ring detached from the base of the item. Reading recent reviews and pics this is happening a lot lately!! I contacted Spigen who asked for a photo. I couldn't send one as the return window had closed and as far as I can see the only way of sending a photo is when you contact seller prior to the return window closing. you can't send a link as Amazon doesn't allow it. Fortunately Spigen kindly agreed to refund my order immediately, so full marks there.
