I put three spots of Araldite glue (two pack) on the underneath of the slate, and it hasn’t moved since. Also used it on the upright. Good luck. **Q: It is called a slate sundial but the material details say it is metal. Is it proper slate stone?** A: The is a slate sundial. t is not made of metal. The angle of the gnomon is only 45 degrees and needs to be set to the latitude you live in. Around 52 degrees for the UK. I stuck a bit in it to increase the angle. It needs to be set pointing NORTH.
