Review: Great way to get better filtering - Arrived in 2 days I think ... I just purchased a 2 hp Harbor Freight (5 micron) dust collector to replace my 1 hp Grizzly. I was concerned about the fit and how performance might be affected going from 5 microns to 1 micron filtering. Fit was fine. The bag seems much thicker than the standard HF bag. Good quality too. re: CFM / suction, I did a very unscientific test by seeing how effective an open, horizontal pipe would hold a package of sandpaper. With the 5 cfm bag, it would barely hold the package with 3 sheets. With the 1 micron it also barely held the same package of 3 sheets. Neither would hold 4 sheets and easily held 2 sheets. So, for me, not a lot of difference in suction / cfm. I was happy with that. How's that for hillbilly testing? ;-) See photos.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Will it reduce the airflow with the harbor freight (central machinery) 2 hp dust collector, which comes with a 5 micron bag?**
A: I have no positive way to tell but I can say I can see no visible reduction from the dust collection when connected to my tools (planer or table saw). I am well pleased with the bag. It is stiffer and thicker than original. Fit was pretty much like original. I am however, using the larger impeller on my dust collector (Wen part / not Rikon - much cheaper and availible) that did increase the suction on my unit.

**Q: will this bag fit a shopfox w1727?**
A: measure the diameter where the bag fits on your shop fox. 21" is the diameter of the bag. it was a little loose on my HF DC but the band clamp sealed it good

**Q: Has this been 3rd party tested?**
A: Bagged dust collectors spew dust!
This bag cuts the spew down.

**Q: Will the 1 micron bag fit over the Jet canister filter?**
A: its 21" diameter 31" long. i dont think bags are supposed to go over canister filters

Arrived in 2 days I think ... I just purchased a 2 hp Harbor Freight (5 micron) dust collector to replace my 1 hp Grizzly. I was concerned about the fit and how performance might be affected going from 5 microns to 1 micron filtering. Fit was fine. The bag seems much thicker than the standard HF bag. Good quality too. re: CFM / suction, I did a very unscientific test by seeing how effective an open, horizontal pipe would hold a package of sandpaper. With the 5 cfm bag, it would barely hold the package with 3 sheets. With the 1 micron it also barely held the same package of 3 sheets. Neither would hold 4 sheets and easily held 2 sheets.
