Review: Brilliant relief for diagnosed dry eyes - I purchased this gel for someone who was diagnosed with dry eyes, and they have been absolutely fantastic. They are incredibly effective at keeping the eyes feeling refreshed, hydrated, and comfortable throughout the day. It is worth noting that because the gel is a bit thicker than drops and has greater strength to deliver deep moisture, it can make your sight a little blurry for a brief moment right after you apply it. However, this soon wears off after a few blinks, leaving the eyes feeling completely relieved. It’s a brilliant, high-quality product that does exactly what it promises for proper dry eye management. Review: Very effective alternative to eye drops and ‘mist sprays’. - Artelac Night-time Gel is a great product to relieve dry / tired eyes. It effectively soothes and provides moisture to the eyes, in a way that lasts far longer than the traditional eye drops and soothing eye mist type products. The product comes in tube packaging, being much smaller than I thought it would be when ordering. However, it lasts a long time as a small amount is used per application. It has a short shelf life of 1.5 months after opening, for me the tube lasted around that length of time (with once daily use), so the size of the tube is not an issue really. The product is applied directly to the eyes, in the same way that eye drops are applied. However, it is a thick gel as opposed to a liquid solution. At first, this was quite odd as the gel ‘sits’ on the eyes and does not really spread throughout the eye naturally, but blinking a few times and looking around spreads the gel nicely. Saying that, vision is slightly blurred for a short while (around a minute for me) after application, nothing significant but worth noting. A slight issue is that application is a little fussier than just spraying the eye with a dry eye mist, on a few occasions I have ‘missed’ my eye and ended up dropping gel on my face! Due to the gel nature of Artelac, it soothes the eyes and prevents dry eyes for so much longer than eye drops. I have used various brands of eye drops and eye sprays, including products from Blink, Optrex and various supermarket / drugstore brands (the Tesco eye mist was surprisingly good!); this product has provided greater relief than all the others. Whereas most drops improve my dry / tired eyes for half an hour or so, Artelac lasts around 2 hours when used during the day. The product, though called a ‘night’ gel can be used throughout the day as required, as I discovered when reading the information leaflet provided (it can be used multiple times throughout the day but is marketed as a night gel due to the thicker nature and the fact that sight is blurred temporarily after using). Whilst the product is not perfect, with issues such as the blurring of eyes, awkward application and short shelf life once opened, the results are better than any of the drop / spray products I have tried. For this, I would highly recommend to those with dry eyes, particularly if more conventional products are not that effective.

A: Yes you can - product is a gel so can therefore blur your vision while the drug is spread across the eye. Please be careful after applying.

A: Hello Rosie, first of all I have used Artelac Nighttme gel recommended by my optician, it is excellent and does work for my dry eyes, and, yes, it is easy to use, though the tube is very small squeezes out easily.  I also have arthritis in my right hand, especially the index finger and do not find it a problem to use the tube.  Jo

**Q: How does this compare to Vita-Pos? Does anyone know?**
A: Artelac made my eyes sting quite badly, only lasted a couple seconds but not pleasant. Vita pos too greasy for me. I’ve been using the Clinitas Carbomer gel for a while now, no problems. And it’s only £7.50 for 3 so great value too. Read the reviews.

I purchased this gel for someone who was diagnosed with dry eyes, and they have been absolutely fantastic. They are incredibly effective at keeping the eyes feeling refreshed, hydrated, and comfortable throughout the day. It is worth noting that because the gel is a bit thicker than drops and has greater strength to deliver deep moisture, it can make your sight a little blurry for a brief moment right after you apply it. However, this soon wears off after a few blinks, leaving the eyes feeling completely relieved. It’s a brilliant, high-quality product that does exactly what it promises for proper dry eye management. Highly recommend!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very thick!

I've been using this overnight for dry eyes and it definitely helps reduce that gritty, irritated feeling when I wake up in the morning. The gel is thick enough to provide lasting lubrication throughout the night and leaves my eyes feeling much more comfortable by the next day. The downside is that it can leave a bit of residue and temporarily blur your vision after application, so it's definitely something to use right before going to sleep. Occasionally I notice small gel-like bits in my eyes when I wake up, which can be a little irritating. That said, it does what it's supposed to do and provides good overnight relief for dry eyes. Worth trying if standard eye drops aren't lasting long enough.
