When plugged in the real fun begins - perhaps I've led a sheltered life but... when the phone is connected to the BT main socket and you receive a call, the eyes light up in a brilliant bright blue (LED lights) and the ring tone is pleasant (ie.it doesn't grate on the nerves after several rings as some can do) - I should mention that the eyes also light up when trying to dial out. This is an excellent landline phone for fans of skulls/gothic styling or for someone wanting a quirky telephone amidst a world which is dominated by mobile phone technology.
