Yes it will fit as it adjusts down quite small. In fact I would say its it's more suited to a 5 yr old than my 9yr old nephew, who kicks it so hard that he just gets in a tangle with it when the ball returns and the elastic wraps around his legs. **Q: I have a 38" waist, would this fit me?** A: I tried this on my husband who has a 32 inch waist and it wouldn't fit you as it comes. However if you had a length of Velcro (both the fluffy and the hook sides) you could make it work easily enough. **Q: How far does the cord stretch** A: How long is a piece of string? Definitely an ace present. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Well built and fit for purpose *by 0***1 on 10 November 2014* I think this is a pretty decent product. Its relatively good quality and well built to withstand its use. The waist band just about fits me (size 10/12). It holds the ball well, although (and I am aware this probably cant be changed due to the nature of the product) the wrap does get in the way a little bit. I like the colours, not too bold but not just plain black. Its easy to set up and connect yourself and the ball to it. The Velcro appears to be lasting well. I have pretty strong legs and it all stays attached after a big kick. Its pretty good for the kick-ups but I find the elastic gets in the way a bit.
