However, as I recall, the construction was substantially die-cast metal with most attachments being in plastic, some of which were bright chrome plated. It needs to be emphasised that the various attachment are quite delicate items and, therefore, the model cannot be considered as being a 'toy'. Worth buying ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great gift was well received *by G***K on 4 May 2025* Great gift was well received ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Another Maisto 'masterpiece' ! *by A***T on 8 August 2018* Having collected 1/18 scale car models for many years, I consider that those by 'maisto' offer both the best quality and details available, and this item did not disappoint ! Wire wheels have always been difficult to reproduce faithfully although It has been noticable that current methods of production mean that those on this particular model are really impressive, only bettered by specialist mfrs costing many times more. Attention to minute details are excellent, especially items such as the 'chrome' hub caps, instrument panel display, steering wheel boss, 'Mercedes' Emblem on the water filler, and last, but not least, the minute gear position display on the gear lever knob !! The overall Paint finish is worthy of note as are the 'chromed' items and light lenses. Criticisms are few, being mindful of the purchase prices, but if being 'picky', the exhaust pipe bend radius is too sharp where exiting the flexible downpipe, and as for many other models, the foot pedals are chromed, as is the rear exhaust pipe section, which is all 'chromed', when only the actual tail pipe is chrome, on the original car.
