Review: Very solid product but caution needed - This is a very robust feeling product and the ink flow and colour is really excellent. You do need to be careful though if you’re a first-time user like me, as when you release the ring that blocks the ink flow, it can come out fast! I got the medium-sized brush and it’s really difficult as a novice to use it for the size of average handwriting (if you know what I mean). It requires practice to be able to write at a normal handwriting size but if that’s what you’re determined to be able to do, you’ll do it. The characters look lovely in this ink and the brush is really good for the dynamics between thick and thin strokes. Enjoy writing your 汉子! 👍🙂
Review: Love it - I bought these to do traditional Chinese paintings. It’s a great pen. The brush end is great. The top part where the ink is stored is thin plastic but you squeeze this part to move the ink down. It works great compared to the non refillable ones I’ve had because they work more like felt tip pens and don’t have the same flow or movement with your strokes. The only other one similar is the other pentel refillable one.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Does the ink well unscrew? How is the red band removed to allow the usage of this pen-brush?**
A: Another tip. When the ink runs out you can twist off the handle and remove it's top cap (the seal is in it). When taking it off the cap it will be connected to a straw (actually two with one inside of the other) . Leave this alone and take the handle and fill it with your own favorite ink. Place straw and cap back on and screw the brush on and get back to work. I go through about one or two of these every year or two before it clogs up.

**Q: How do you use this pen , I'm a bit confused since I never got one before I tried shaking it but that didn't help😰**
A: I was also confused when I first got the pen ^^;! I ended up squeezing the long black plastic part of the brush to get the ink into the bristles and that worked, but I'm not sure that's the correct way to get the ink into the brush. Be careful not to over-flood the bristles! Also, the first few brush strokes are a little watery :). Hope this is helpful to you!

**Q: Hi which refill is used with this one?**
A: The regular Pentel pocket brush refills

**Q: How do you clean this or what do you do when you finish up writing/drawing with it? I don't want the ink to dry out. Newbie here.**
A: Put the lid back on tightly much like you would a marker. You don't clean it, nor do you clean to change colors. if you want a different color, you buy a new pen with the desired color ink in the barrel - though I do keep pretty empty ones, and keep the lid on tightly to keep brush supple, and dip them in my own ink. I like this thin/thick brush action that much.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Brush tip is awesome, red ring is hard to remove

The ink is deep and black, and you can control the flow rate yourself both by how hard you press and how hard you squeeze. The brush tip is excellent quality and can be reformed if distressed. Only problem I’ve encountered is that I wasn’t able to remove the red ring before use. Im not entirely sure what the ring does, because it appears I’ve popped whatever seal was in place trying to unscrew the cartridge to remove the ring, and now ink is flowing anyway. It doesnt work amazingly well, presumably because I still have the red ring in place, but I dont really have any choice but to use all the ink up before attempting to remove it again, lest I get ink everywhere. Pretty disappointing first use because of that. Its not fancy looking, its all function and has a cheaper plastic feel, but I’ve used many brush pens before, and the brush itself is the highest quality I’ve ever used. So while it hasn't been the greatest of experiences so far, Im looking forward to the refill to get it working correctly
