From the manufacturer The Pond Oxygenator Pumps have been designed to be weather-proof, so they are able to be installed inmost locations around the garden, or in a shed or garage, close to your chosen power supply. Ensure that the air pump is installed above the pond water level to avoid back siphoning of pond water into the air pump in the event of a mains power failure. Alternatively, if the pump can only be installed below the pond level install Aqua Air Check Valves into each piece of airline. The air pump should be located on a firm surface which will not vibrate and act as a sounding board, a concrete floor or paving slab would be ideal. Position the air pump in a clean and dust free environment. Excessive dirt will block the air filters, reducing the air pumps performance and increase the speed of wear on replaceable parts. The air pump must stand the correct way up – with all four rubber feet touching the surface on which it is installed. This will ensure the maximum protection from adverse weather conditions. I purchased the Blagdon 1800 for my small pond, it came with a very long cable, but as appears to be the law in this country I had to fit my own mains electric connector. Primarily I use the Blagdon to aerate a 50 gallon fluidised bed with media. It is powerful and quiet in operation and I have made a protective shelter for it to stand in as outside by my pond, without protecting it did suck in dampness which was evident in the air lines. I uses all six of the oygenator air lines to aerated the fluidised bed and this it does with ease, and I am delighted with the results. Blagdon even supply spare parts, and seasonal service kits should you need them, so I anticipate having some years use. Overall a compact and powerful oxygenator/air pump.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great at producing air in the water

This has been absolutely brilliant in the hot weather. After losing 2 very prized fish in my pond during the first heatwave, I was in need of something urgently. I quickly scanned the reviews and went for this 1800 version with 6 air stones. I've had the one's with 2 air stones, which do the job on a small pond, these you could instantly see the air being produced in the water. No problems during the 2nd heatwave. I kept it on all night when the plants stop giving off oxygen and put it on periodically during the hottest day during the day. IMPORTANT: The air stones and 5mm pipe have to be ordered separately, but don't let it put you off. Definitely would buy again.
