All that needed to be done was slide off the side of the case, remove the OEM 2GB module from memory slot 1, replace it with one of the new 4GB modules, and then fill the second, empty memory slot with the other 4GB DDR4 module. All that was left was to slide the side of the case back into place and boot the machine up. The extra memory did the job.
