**Q: Does this come with any leads?**
A: It came with a couple of leads, but I purchased another pack just in case. If it's been bounced around a bit in transit the leads may be broken Although saying that, my pen was really well packaged with plenty of padding. I know if I drop any of my mechanical pencils, the leads can break.

**Q: The twist mechanism barrel can be very slightly be pushed down. Is this meant to happen?**
A: I think that if there wasn't a slight amount of play (on mine, it's a lot less than a millimetre) then the twist mechanism would grind a bit when  it's twisted.

**Q: does this item also work as a stylus?**
A: the stylus version of this pencil is the 800+

**Q: Are these the newer ones made in Japan ?**
A: I have a bunch of Japanese rotring pencils, and think they are better than the German ones.

The weight makes it feel stable and controlled rather than flimsy. The standout feature for me is the retractable tip. It makes a real difference if you carry stationery around because I can put it in my pocket or bag without worrying the tip will bend or snap. That single feature makes it far more practical day to day than standard mechanical pencils, especially for commuting or moving between meeting rooms.
