It is anything but. I bought this puller specifically to remove the pulley from used stepper motors. They were impossible with the tools I had or even those I made. However, this puller really did the job. It came with two different puller shafts, each with two different sized ends to match different motor shafts. It came with two different bases, to fit the different shafts, too. The only thing it DIDN'T have is the 1.5mm hex wrench needed to change the shaft or tighten the top. I bent the first shaft that was in it upon arrival but was too small for my job, before I broke down and bought the wrench to change it. My pulleys were tough. No lesser puller would have worked. I had an issue changing pins and they provided some tips that proved very helpful. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ A bit fiddly, but does work and is certainly strong, well designed, and well manufactured. *by L***Z on October 26, 2016* Comes with 4 pin/driver sizes, but only two base plates, and while the 3rd-largest pin fit my motor shaft perfectly, my gear just BARELY worked with the larger of the two plates - it really wanted to slip off the edge and make the whole rig crooked. A channel size in between the two provided baseplates would have been perfect and made everything a bit easier. It's also pretty fiddly trying to get the plates leveled/perfectly parallel with each other with the 3 machine screws. If the plates aren't parallel, the driver doesn't plunge down perfectly straight, which means it just slips off the shaft, and/or will get bent as you apply real pressure. You will need a very small allen/hex key to change the driver. The 3 adjustment screws (and associated lock nuts) I just adjusted by hand, which was fine, especially since you'll need to very, very carefully and minutely tweak them as you get everything lined up just so. All those complaints aside... it worked great. I'm sure there are worse gear pullers out there.
