The bristles/hairs are super soft, they hold a good deal of water for synthetics They have a nice point but not needle sharp, however a few hairs do splay out at the sides but it's not an issue when the brush is wet (you can gently massage then back if you're careful when dry). They did intially lose a hair or two when rinsing off the glue initially but none after that. The range of brushes in this pack are also excellent for broad washes, loose pieces and details (personally I'm not so keen on the cats tongue/oval - buts that's because it's not a brush a use for my style of work). All in all I think these are a fantastic set of brushes which will get a lot of use and become a staple of my collection!
