## Description

LG LGH815.AGBRVK G4 Smartphone - Black: desertcart.co.uk

Review: Best Android Phone of 2015 So Far - This is my first LG phone coming from the M8, I did not expect much but after trying out I'm glad with my choice. Even though most of the competition focuses on gimmicks like beefing up cameras instead of focusing on essentials, this phone does it right in all areas. UI looks good, clean and most importantly customizable thanks to LG Smart World. Screen is beautiful, battery life is excellent around 2 days but you have to make several tweaks to achieve it. You don't even need that many third party apps. LG Keyboard is just as good as Swiftkey, It comes with a file manager and there's a "smart cleaning" feature that does most of what apps like clean master do. Be careful with smart cleaning idle apps though I thought it would just stop the apps but it actually uninstalls them so consider changing the setting to at least 1 month. I'm a believer that Quad HD on a phone ( everything above full HD) is a gimmick and in my opinion useless even though the screen is nice and would be lying that is not impressive, I would have preferred if they released 2 models Full HD and QHD. If I can get around 2 days of battery life with it, I can only imagine if the screen was Full HD. If you look at the battery usage tab in the settings and see what drains more, it's the screen it goes from like 25-39% (0 Brightness at home and auto when I'm out) Camera is just fine for me in auto mode, I wouldn't have a clue on how to operate manual mode. Smart features in my opinion are useless since they use location and location decreases battery life considerably so I disable location completely. If you plan on using it, I would suggest using battery saving mode it uses data and WiFi instead of GPS. The only smart feature I have enabled is to open the music app when I plugin earphones/headphones. Smart bulletin could use some improvements, it could even become LG's own Blinkfeed. +Battery life + Customization (themes/fonts/app logos etc) + Knock Code a good alternative to fingerprint scanner and surprisingly convenient + Leather back looks good + comes with a screen protector and extra case + SD card slot + Removable battery The last two are reasons enough to at the very least consider this phone.
Review: Smartphone with all the bells and whistles you need - I finally had enough squinting at my Nexus 4 and decided it was time to go with a larger screen phone. I had thought about getting the S7 but I couldn't justify the cost. I was literally torn between two phones in the end - Motorola X and the G4. I wanted the ability to change the battery and expand storage. Having seen my brother in laws G4 I was swayed to go for it. For £260 I was able to get a phone that was relatively up to date. The back leather finish isn't really my cup of tea but it's functional. A nice touch was that there was a silver back cover in the box as well along with the charger, cable and battery. Setup was easy. My Google account was synced within minutes with all apps present. The 5.5" screen is marvelous. The colours appear to be realistic without being overblown. I compared the G4 with my wife's Samsung Note and I could clearly see the colour palette on the G4 was more natural. Screen brightness is very good. The rocker switch on the back feels a little more natural to me than having the controls on the side of the phone. The UI isn't ghastly compared to others but some of the icons appear a little child like. Still, it's easy to ascertain what the icon means. The phone is certainly not sluggish. The camera open up quickly when in for me is a welcome respite from the sluggish Nexus. There is a surprising amount of manual control which permits to adjust plenty of settings such as ISO, shutter speed, light balance. With its relatively fast aperture low light pictures look pretty decent especially if you capture images in RAW format. Videos are surprisingly well captured when optical image stabilisation is used. Image quality is superb - makes my Nexus 4 look antiquated. I love the ability to save RAW images in addition to the JPEGs. Luckily there aren't many modes to get in the way of taking a photo. Selfies look pretty good with the front facing camera. Battery life is good. It will last a good part of the day under normal usage. However, the screen does consume most of the power so leave the auto brightness on. Charging takes a couple of hours. All in all, this is a great phone. The G4 maybe one generation behind the new kids on the block but for me the G4 is perfect for me and should last many years to come. It may not have the latest tech but for the price, I can't find anything to fault it.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review
*by E***I on 3 June 2016*
