About Us Our journey began in the late 50’s/early 60’s when Vic Firth, a musician himself, was not satisfied with the variety of sticks and mallets he could find in the market. Review: Excellent little practice pad - This pad is well made, good quality, and has good rebound and feel. If you're wanting to mount it on a stand just check the thread size is compatible, ours wasn't though that wasn't what I wanted it for. I wanted something of good quality and feel that was portable and not too noisy. Be aware that the actual playing surface is 14.5cm at the widest point. I don't find that a problem as it encourages accuracy, but it might be too small for some. It has a slip-resistant backing so sits pretty well on a table, not so good on top of a snare drum as it's light in weight and can bounce off! In summary, if you're looking for a small, portable, good quality practice pad you can shove in a bag and take anywhere this is ideal. If you want something closer to the size of a snare head or to sit on top of the snare for practice, or if the small size deters you for other reasons, you'd be better off with the larger size, which I expect is the same quality and feel.

**Q: how do you use it**
A: it's pretty straightforward - it's for practicing your sticking and rudiments etc when using a real drum would be too loud. I tend to use it while I'm watching TV or whatever. It's also got a threaded hole underneath so you can put it on a cymbal stand in front of you for comfort...

**Q: Does this pad really only weigh 90g?**
A: same response as others, this one weighs 1.5 kg.

**Q: Hows the rebound feel? Ive had a traditional vic firth pad for years but looking for something with less rebound to be closer to the real drum feel.**
A: This may not be the right product for you then. Its not quite the response you would get from a real drum unless you like your snare tight!

This pad is well made, good quality, and has good rebound and feel. great little pad, quite small so do not expect a big pad, pay attention to measurements stated. The material of the pad is great quality for bounce back. true to image and description. You cannot go wrong with Vic Firth! Perfect for practicing stick control and rudiments. I take it with me so I can practice at all times. Sometimes after a session on the kit in my studio room, when i am lounging about I still feel like I want to carry on, so i'll casually sit with my pad and paradiddle away, it's good to use at the comfort of your home with video tutorials when at times it is inappropriate to play on a loud kit/no access to a kit. Also handy to take away on holidays, to keep your playing fresh. Every drummer should own a practice pad. Recommended!
