Also, if you use the lid, you'll have to take it off and put it back on again every single time you want some ice cubes! I simply threw away the lid because it's utterly pointless for ice cube use. Having a spurious lid doesn't lose it marks, especially when I paid only 1.57 for the tray, which itself is very good. 12 nice and large ice cubes and they easily pop out with only a slight twist of the plastic tray (this surprised me because my previous plastic tray needed to be heavily bent to get the cubes out and this eventually split it). Bought 6 trays in January 2014: been in daily use since then! *by E***Z on 15 May 2017* Great product! We bought six of these, via Amazon, back in January 2014, and they have been in constant use since then. Still in great condition! The six trays stack neatly at the lefthand side of the top drawer in our freezer, so we always have plenty of ice readily at hand and easy to access. As we empty one tray we refill it with water (filtered - we live in London) and put it to the bottom of the stack, so as to have a rotating supply of ice.
