I have also previously used non brand alternatives which were cheaper but when flushing the machine for many times after replacing i would get much more fine black particles from the filter into my cup. Although im sure harmless there was often a lot more than with these original filters which would suggest better quality control of the filter contents and as icm using it to filter water I consume I don't fancy going to cheap. These are good value for money to keep your machine in good condition, especially if your water quality is variable and hard like mine. No unpleasant taste either. Good fit in my machine tank and although the instructions tell you to invert in the eater tank before fitting, my tank is too small but getting as much air out as I can in the space and then running the machine a couple of times ti pull the water through always works for me even if it oulls a bit of air first.
