The Leyton Lighting LMLVSS01 is a 12V, 20W halogen recessed downlight featuring a warm white 3000K glow and a sleek brushed stainless steel finish. Designed primarily for under-cabinet or shelf installation, it fits a 58-60mm cutout and supports dimming with compatible low voltage controls. ## Description

A low voltage, recessed downlight with a 20w halogen G4 capsule spot light source. It can also be used as a surface mounted fitting using one of the optional surface mounting rings (sold separately). This fitting is a warm white colour temperature and stainless steel/brushed chrome finish. This light fitting is designed for installation under kitchen cabinets to light work surfaces, but it can be used anywhere that a light is required. It's not really bright enough for general room lighting, but would be great for effect or background lighting, or for lighting a specific area, such as a kitchen work surface. Supplied with 1.5m of cable, with an AMP power connector. This fitting requires a suitable halogen transformer to operate.

Two of these lightbulbs went a few months ago and so when we found these exact duplicates we were pleased and obviously they have fitted exactly.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: The current Leyton fittings are too bright being inset in cupboards above the bed. Is this light similarly too bright?**
A: The 20w would be too bright and too hot  for above a bed  as a reading light I believe. However you could easily swop the bulb for 10w or even  5 which  would probably solve the problem. personally we use an LED reading light which runs cool bur bright. Ours is from IKEA.

**Q: Do you need a transformer**
A: with the lights you will need a 240 volt to 12 volt transformer but that is not a problem.the lights do come witha a small plug-in arangment at the end but you could cut it off and wire direct to the 12 volt transformer if needed but see if you can buy the plug in type first

**Q: Is the glass clear or obscure**
A: Hi

The glass is obscure, an opaque finish.

**Q: Hi, can you use these lights in a vanity unit in the bathroom ?**
A: If your lights are above the taps, then, yes. (Why would they be below?) Lots of vanity canopies above a bathroom mirror use these lights. I've had one for 20 years and just had to replace the original lights with these new ones.
